| Capability | ClipSnitch | Clipchamp |
|---|---|---|
| Finding moments | AI-selected clips with scores for your review | Its pricing page doesn't list turning a long video into clips; you cut moments by hand in the editor |
| Vertical video | 9:16 reframing on the speaker | Resize and crop tools, with 9:16 as an aspect ratio you set yourself |
| Caption styling | Animated captions and saved brand templates | AI subtitles, included on the free plan |
| Publishing | Direct publishing to YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok on every plan, with scheduling on paid plans | Sharing to YouTube, TikTok and OneDrive; LinkedIn for company pages only, and its YouTube guide says Shorts can't be published through that integration. We found no scheduling |
| Workflow extras | Review, trim, restyle, and manage YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok posts in the workspace | A general editor with stock media, voiceovers and silence removal |

Clipchamp is an editor: you decide where each clip starts and ends, and you set the frame yourself. ClipSnitch starts from the other end. It reads a long recording, suggests the moments worth sharing with a score, and keeps the speaker in a 9:16 frame, switching to a split screen when two people talk.
For a single edit, Clipchamp's free plan is hard to argue with: no watermark and 1080p exports. ClipSnitch's Free plan adds a small watermark. What it offers instead is the long-video workflow, editable animated captions and posting to YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels and LinkedIn on every plan, with scheduling on paid plans.
Clipchamp has a free plan you can export from as often as you like; its premium features are included with Microsoft 365 Personal and Family plans, and its pricing page links to Microsoft for the prices.
Clipchamp’s official plansPlans are measured in minutes of uploaded video: a 12-minute video uses 12 minutes. Minutes are reserved at upload and come back automatically if processing fails or finds no clips. Plan minutes reset each month, and extra minutes bought in packs last a year.
ClipSnitch plansClipSnitch does: upload a long recording and it suggests the moments, frames the speaker vertically and adds captions you can edit. The Free plan includes 60 minutes of uploaded video a month and no credit card, with a small watermark on clips.
Its pricing page says yes: you can export as many videos as you like, up to 1080p, with no watermark. Premium features such as 4K come with Microsoft 365 Personal and Family plans.
Clipchamp's YouTube guide says Shorts can't be published through its YouTube integration, so you would download the video and upload it yourself. ClipSnitch posts directly to YouTube Shorts on every plan.
Use the same source video in each tool. Check whether the chosen moment makes sense without the full episode, whether the crop follows speaker changes, and how much correction the captions need. Count the clips you would actually publish and the time you spend fixing them.
Review AI highlights, create a vertical cut, and make the captions your own. Publishing to YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok works on every plan; scheduling is on paid plans.
