Privacy Policy
Effective 22 October 2026
This policy explains what information ClipSnitch collects, how it is used, how long it is kept, and the choices you have. It applies to the ClipSnitch website and app, and to information we receive from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or LinkedIn when you choose to connect those accounts.
1. Who we are
ClipSnitch is operated by Mahad Asif, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia ("ClipSnitch", "we", "us"). ClipSnitch helps creators turn their long-form videos into short vertical clips with captions and, when they choose, publish those clips to their own YouTube channel, TikTok account, Instagram account or LinkedIn profile.
If you have any questions about this policy or your information, please contact us at hello@clipsnitch.com.
2. Information we collect
Account information
- Your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in readable form.
- If you sign in with Google, the account identifier and verified email address that Google shares with us. We do not receive your Google password.
Content you upload or link to
- The video files you upload to ClipSnitch.
- Links you paste into ClipSnitch (from YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox, or a direct link to a video file), and the video we fetch from that link so we can process it for you. It is stored and deleted like an uploaded video. For a Google Drive link we read only that one file, shared by its owner as "Anyone with the link", through Google's Drive API; ClipSnitch gets no access to your Google account or your other files. We also record which service the link came from and when you confirmed that you have the rights to the video.
- Files you choose with "Choose from Google Drive" or "Choose from Google Photos". Google asks for your permission first. With Google Drive, ClipSnitch can then open only the files you pick (the drive.file permission); with Google Photos, only the items you pick in that Google Photos window (the photospicker.mediaitems.readonly permission). We use that access once, to fetch the file you chose so we can process it, and we do not store it. The fetched video is stored and deleted like an uploaded one. You can remove ClipSnitch's access at any time in your Google Account settings.
- Files you choose with "Choose from Dropbox". Dropbox's own window lets you pick one file and gives ClipSnitch a temporary link to that file only, which stops working after four hours. ClipSnitch gets no access to your Dropbox account or your other files, and no share link is created. We use the temporary link once, to fetch the file, and we do not store it; the fetched video is stored and deleted like an uploaded one.
- ClipSnitch's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Files from Google Drive or Google Photos are used only to create the clips or transcript you asked for; they are not used to train AI models, are not sold, and are not shared except with the service providers that process your content for you.
- Information generated from them to provide the service, such as transcripts, scene and speaker information, the clips we create, thumbnails and caption files.
When you contact us
- What you write to us through Help & support or the contact form, your name and email address, any screenshots you attach, and — for help requests from inside the app — your plan, the project or clip the request is about, the page you came from, your browser and screen size, and the most recent error the app showed you, so we can help without asking you to describe your setup.
- If you sign up with someone's invite link, or invite others, we keep which account invited which and the bonus minutes each received, so we can apply the rewards and prevent abuse. The person who invited you sees only how many friends joined, never who.
- Answers you choose to give to short questions in the app — whether a clip was a good pick, how ClipSnitch is working for you, how easy posting was, and why you are cancelling a plan, with any reasons or comment you add — together with your plan at the time. We use them to improve clip selection and the service.
Information from YouTube, if you connect a channel
- An authorization token that lets ClipSnitch upload videos to your channel when you ask it to. It is stored encrypted.
- The result of each upload you make through ClipSnitch, such as the video ID, its link and whether the upload succeeded.
Information from TikTok, if you connect an account
- An authorization token that lets ClipSnitch post videos to your account when you ask it to. It is stored encrypted.
- Your TikTok display name, profile photo and the identifier TikTok provides for your account, so you can see which account is connected. The display name and identifier are stored; the profile photo is loaded from TikTok when you open Settings and is not stored.
- Your account's current posting options — for example which visibility settings are available and the maximum video length — which are read when you open the posting screen and are not stored.
- The result of each post you make through ClipSnitch, such as the post ID, its link and whether it succeeded.
Information from Instagram, if you connect an account
- An access token that lets ClipSnitch post Reels to your Instagram professional account when you ask it to. It is stored encrypted.
- Your Instagram username and the identifier Instagram provides for your account, so you can see which account is connected. Your profile picture and how many posts apps have made on the account in the last 24 hours are loaded from Instagram when you open Settings or the posting screen, and are not stored.
- The result of each post you make through ClipSnitch, such as the post ID, its link and whether it succeeded.
Information from LinkedIn, if you connect an account
- An access token that lets ClipSnitch post videos to your LinkedIn profile when you ask it to, and when it expires. It is stored encrypted.
- Your name and the identifier LinkedIn provides for your account, so you can see which profile is connected. Your profile picture is loaded from LinkedIn when you open Settings or the posting screen and is not stored.
- The result of each post you make through ClipSnitch, such as the post ID, its link and whether it succeeded.
Plan and usage
- Your plan, when it started and ends, and a record of plan changes.
- The length of each video you upload and the minutes it used, so we can show your remaining minutes and answer billing questions.
- If you buy a paid plan, Paddle, our payment provider, handles your card and billing details under its own privacy policy. ClipSnitch never receives or stores card details. We keep the identifiers Paddle gives your customer record and subscription, your plan, your subscription's status and billing period, and a record of each billing event Paddle sends us.
Technical information
- Standard server information such as IP address, browser type, and the date and time of requests, used to keep the service secure and working.
- Records of processing activity, such as when a video was processed and whether it completed.
3. How we use information
We use information only to provide and support the features you use:
- To create clips and captions from the videos you upload or link to.
- To publish a clip to your YouTube channel, TikTok account, Instagram account or LinkedIn profile when you choose to, and to show you the result.
- To let you view and manage your projects, clips and publishing activity.
- To send service messages, such as notifications that your clips are ready or a password reset you requested. You can manage notification preferences in Settings.
- To send a couple of short getting-started tips in your first weeks, only about steps you haven't tried yet (for example, if you haven't uploaded a video). You can turn these off in Settings → Notifications or with the unsubscribe link in any of them.
- To send product updates and offers, only if you asked for them when you signed up or in Settings. You can stop them at any time in the same places.
- To maintain the security and reliability of the service.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or use it to build profiles of you.
4. YouTube API Services
ClipSnitch uses YouTube API Services to let you publish clips to your YouTube channel. By using this feature you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Please also see the Google Privacy Policy, which describes how Google handles your information.
- ClipSnitch requests a single YouTube permission, youtube.upload, which allows it to upload videos to your channel. It does not give ClipSnitch access to your existing videos, comments, subscribers or analytics, and cannot change or delete anything on your channel.
- Information received from Google APIs is used only to provide the publishing feature you see in ClipSnitch.
- It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared with others except as needed to provide that feature, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.
- It is not read by people, except with your permission, where needed for security, or to comply with the law.
- It is not used to develop, improve or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
5. TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn
ClipSnitch uses TikTok's developer services to let you post clips to your TikTok account. Your use of TikTok is subject to the TikTok Terms of Service, and TikTok's handling of your information is described in the TikTok Privacy Policy.
- ClipSnitch requests two TikTok permissions: user.info.basic, which lets it show which account is connected, and video.publish, which allows it to post videos to your account.
- Information received from TikTok is used only to post the clips you choose and to show you the result. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared except as needed to provide that feature or to comply with the law.
- Nothing is posted without your action. For each post you choose the caption, who can view it, which interactions are allowed, and whether it is disclosed as promotional content.
- It is not used to develop, improve or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
ClipSnitch uses Meta's Instagram API to let you post clips as Reels to your Instagram professional account. Your use of Instagram is subject to the Instagram Terms of Use, and Meta's handling of your information is described in the Meta Privacy Policy.
- ClipSnitch requests two Instagram permissions: instagram_business_basic, which lets it show which account is connected, and instagram_business_content_publish, which allows it to post Reels to your account.
- Information received from Instagram is used only to post the clips you choose and to show you the result. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared except as needed to provide that feature or to comply with the law.
- Nothing is posted without your action. For each post you choose the caption and whether the Reel also appears in your profile grid.
- It is not used to develop, improve or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
ClipSnitch uses LinkedIn's API to let you post clips as videos to your LinkedIn profile. Your use of LinkedIn is subject to the LinkedIn User Agreement, and LinkedIn's handling of your information is described in the LinkedIn Privacy Policy.
- ClipSnitch requests three LinkedIn permissions: openid and profile, which let it show which profile is connected, and w_member_social, which allows it to post on your behalf.
- Information received from LinkedIn is used only to post the clips you choose and to show you the result. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not shared except as needed to provide that feature or to comply with the law.
- Nothing is posted without your action. For each post you choose the text and who can see it.
- It is not used to develop, improve or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
6. Automated clip selection
To suggest which moments of a video to turn into clips, ClipSnitch sends the video's transcript text to Google's Gemini API through a paid Google Cloud account. Under Google's terms for paid API use, this content is used to provide the result and is not used to improve Google's products. ClipSnitch does not use your videos, transcripts, or information from YouTube or TikTok to train artificial intelligence models.
7. Cookies, browser storage and advertising
- ClipSnitch does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and does not use analytics services.
- The app stores a small amount of information in your browser's local and session storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences such as your caption style, keep track of a video that is still processing, and show a message if your session ends. You can clear it at any time by signing out or clearing your browser data.
- The website serves its interface and caption fonts from its own domain.
- Your clips, their preview images and project thumbnails load from Cloudflare, so your browser connects to Cloudflare to download them.
- When you open checkout to buy a plan, your browser loads Paddle's checkout from Paddle.
- When you use a tool that needs the video engine (making a GIF, converting audio or cleaning up audio), your browser downloads the engine from jsDelivr, a public content delivery network, and checks that it is the exact file ClipSnitch ships. If jsDelivr can't be reached, it is loaded from ClipSnitch instead. Your files are not sent to jsDelivr.
- ClipSnitch does not display advertising and does not allow third parties to serve content or advertising through it.
9. Where information is stored
Your information is stored and processed on servers operated by ClipSnitch in Saudi Arabia. Requests reach those servers through the network providers listed above, and all connections are encrypted in transit. If you use ClipSnitch from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in Saudi Arabia.
Copies of your clips, their preview images and your project thumbnails are also stored with Cloudflare R2, in Cloudflare data centres that may be outside Saudi Arabia.
When a paid-plan project is analysed on a RunPod server (see above), its video is processed temporarily in a RunPod data centre outside Saudi Arabia.
10. Retention and deletion
- Projects — your clips, their captions, preview images and transcript — are deleted automatically after processing: after 3 days on the Free plan, 30 days on Creator and 60 days on Pro. We let you know before a project is deleted.
- On paid plans you can save projects to your plan's storage (25 GB on Creator, 100 GB on Pro), yourself or with auto-save. Saved projects are kept until you remove them from storage or delete them. You can delete any project yourself at any time, and close your account yourself in Settings.
- If a paid plan ends or you move to a plan with a shorter period or less storage, your existing projects keep the previous limits for 14 days. After that, saved projects that no longer fit are removed from storage, oldest first, and follow the new plan's period from then; we let you know. An expired project's name stays in your project list for 30 days, then it is removed.
- The video you upload is deleted when its project is deleted, and no later than 7 days after the project finishes processing, fails or is cancelled.
- If a project is analysed on a RunPod server, the copy of its video sent there is deleted as soon as the analysis finishes, fails or is cancelled, and in any case within a day.
- Copies stored with Cloudflare are deleted when the project or your account is deleted. They may also be removed earlier to free storage space, in which case the clip is delivered from our own servers instead.
- Exported videos, styled downloads and watermarked copies are temporary: exports and styled downloads are deleted after 7 days, watermarked copies after 30 days without use, and each can be created again from your clip at any time. A copy a scheduled post still needs is kept until the post has been published.
- YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn authorization tokens are deleted as soon as you disconnect the account in Settings, and when we detect that access has been revoked.
- Publishing results received from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or LinkedIn, such as video IDs and links, are kept for no longer than 30 days, and are deleted as soon as you disconnect that account.
- Notifications are deleted automatically: read notifications after 30 days, and unread notifications after 180 days.
- Technical logs are used only for security and troubleshooting, and are automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Support requests, our replies and any screenshots you attached are kept for 2 years after the last message, so we can pick up an earlier conversation, and then deleted automatically.
- Plan and usage records are kept while your account is active, so we can answer billing questions, and are deleted with your account. Records of billing events received from Paddle are kept after that, without a link to your account, for accounting and tax purposes.
You can delete a project yourself from its page or from Settings. You can close your account yourself at any time in Settings. When you do, any subscription is cancelled straight away, you are signed out everywhere, and we remove your email address, name, sign-in details and your connections to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and LinkedIn (for YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn we also revoke our access there). Your videos and clips are deleted 3 days later. We keep the rest of your account's records — projects, transcripts, usage and payment records, the reason you gave for leaving and answers you gave to questions in the app — in a form that is no longer linked to you, to run and improve the service and for accounting. Copies in our database backups expire within about 8 weeks. If you want everything erased, email hello@clipsnitch.com from the address on your account, before or after closing it; we will complete the request within 30 days and confirm when it is done. Content you have already published to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or LinkedIn stays on those platforms and can be removed there.
11. Revoking access
You can disconnect YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or LinkedIn at any time from Settings in ClipSnitch. Disconnecting deletes the stored authorization and the publishing results for that account and, for YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn, asks the platform to revoke ClipSnitch's access. Instagram offers apps no way to do that, so to remove ClipSnitch from your Instagram account as well, go to Instagram's Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites.
You can also revoke ClipSnitch's access to your Google account directly through the Google security settings page at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. If you do, any information we hold that was received from YouTube API Services will be deleted within 30 days. For TikTok, you can remove ClipSnitch from the apps connected to your account in TikTok's settings. For LinkedIn, you can remove it under Settings → Data privacy → Permitted services in LinkedIn.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. Connections to ClipSnitch are encrypted, passwords are stored only in hashed form, authorization tokens are encrypted with a key held separately from the database, and internal systems are not accessible from the public internet. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you and any relevant authority as required by law.
13. Children
ClipSnitch is not intended for people under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact hello@clipsnitch.com and we will delete it.
14. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, or to object to certain uses of it. To make a request, contact hello@clipsnitch.com. We will respond within 30 days and will not treat you differently for making a request.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we will let you know in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
16. Contact
For privacy questions, requests or complaints, contact hello@clipsnitch.com, or write to Mahad Asif, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
