Smallest scales down to 720p and Balanced to 1080p, which is what most phones and chat apps show anyway. Best quality keeps the original resolution.

Compress MP4, MOV or WebM videos to a quality you pick, or to a size like 20 MB for Discord or 25 MB for email. Reduce video size right in your browser and download an MP4.
Your file stays on your device. It's processed in this browser tab and never uploaded to ClipSnitch.
Pick or drop an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV file up to 2 GB. It opens in this tab; nothing is uploaded.
Choose Smallest, Balanced or Best quality, or type the size you need, such as 20 MB for Discord or 25 MB for an email attachment.
You get an H.264 MP4 that plays everywhere, with the size before and after so you can see what you saved.

Bitrate is how much data each second of video uses. Lowering it is what shrinks the file; a target size sets it for you.
The sound is encoded as AAC at 128 kbps, clear for speech and music, and a small part of the file.
Choose Best quality: it keeps the original resolution and uses a high bitrate, so the file gets smaller with very little visible change. Balanced (up to 1080p) makes a much smaller file that is hard to tell from the original on a phone.
Tick "Aim for a file size instead" and type the size, or pick 10, 20, 25 or 50 MB. The compressor works out the bitrate that fits the video's length into that size. Very small targets for long videos look soft.
Tick "Aim for a file size instead" and pick 20 MB, the free upload limit on Discord since August 2026 (it was 10 MB before). Nitro Basic allows 50 MB and Nitro 500 MB. The compressor fits the whole video into that size, so a long video at 20 MB looks soft; trim it first if you only need part of it.
Yes. WhatsApp accepts files up to 2 GB, but it compresses videos you send in a chat. Compressing first gives you a smaller file that sends faster, at the quality you choose. To keep that quality, send the MP4 as a document instead of as a video.
Yes. The video compressor takes MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and M4V files up to 2 GB and gives back an MP4 (H.264 video, AAC or the original sound) that plays on phones, computers, chat apps and social networks.
No. The video is compressed in your browser tab using your device's own video encoder, and it never leaves your computer or phone. ClipSnitch never receives it.
Yes: free, with no watermark and no account. Large results are saved straight to your computer in Chrome and Edge, so even long recordings can be compressed.
