How the check works

  1. Upload your video

Choose a file from your device. You can check up to 20 videos a day.

  2. It reads the video

It samples frames across the whole video, measures sounds such as laughter or game audio, and checks whether people are sitting or standing.

  3. See the result

You get the likely niche, how much of the video fits it, and a timeline of each part.

What it can detect

Podcasts, interviews and panels with people talking at a table or on chairs.

  • Solo talking

One person speaking to the camera at a desk or in a room.

  • Stage performance

Stand-up comedy, keynotes and talks in front of a live audience.

  • Music

Concerts and music videos, where music fills the sound and there's little speech.

  • Gaming

Video game footage, with or without a webcam box.

  • Sports broadcast

Matches and games filmed for broadcast, often with a score overlay.

  • Screen recording

Software demos, tutorials and shared screens.

  • Vlog on the go

Someone filming themselves while walking or travelling.

  • Slides or animation

    Presentations, cartoons and motion graphics.

  • Something else

Cooking, films, nature and anything that doesn't fit the formats above.

Questions

What does "niche" mean here?

The format of the video itself: a seated podcast, gaming footage, a stage show, sports and so on. It doesn't research a market or tell you how much a topic earns.

How does the detector know?

It samples frames across the video and compares them with descriptions of each format, measures sounds such as laughter, applause and game audio, and checks whether people are sitting or standing.

Is it free?

Yes. It uses none of your minutes. You need a free account, and you can check up to 20 videos a day.

Do you keep my video?

No. The file is deleted as soon as the check ends. We keep only the file's name and the result, and you can remove those at any time.

How accurate is it?

It's an estimate. In our tests it handled long gameplay and talking videos well, but it sometimes mistook animated films for games and was weakest on mixed videos such as news broadcasts. The result shows how sure it is.
